We had a wonderful experience in Pete Robson’s class-he gave very clear instruction and great tips, I was surprised at the amount of food we got to taste! Thank you for the fabulous cooking class, we loved the outdoor BBQ cooking courses!
My brother, who has been to 8 classes recommended Balboa Food and Wine School classes to us and we loved learning how to roll sushi with Jeff Roberto (Sushi Jeff), from Sushi on a Roll, he exceeded our expectations! He had great stories and lessons that he had learned to go along with the hands on sushi rolling!
The Simple and Healthy Cooking class was complimented by the intimate setting of Balboa Park, the service was friendly and we loved learning new techniques.
Everything was fantastic, the Chefs were friendly and informative, and the food was delicious. The service was perfect!
Nadia Frigeri is always friendly and makes you feel as if you are in her kitchen at home! Her Italian Food classes are the BEST, and the wine pairings went perfectly with the cuisine! It is so nice to have an opportunity for Q&A at the end of the class.
Chef Miles of Mister Tiki Mai Tai Lounge is personable and approachable! His classes are fun and casual, we loved his ‘Cocktail Party Cuisine’ and it was a nice compliment to have cocktails served with the class! We are fans of Miles!
The food was absolutely fabulous. It was a great menu and VERY creative. We loved the cobb lobster stack that was infused with the Meyers lemon oil. WOW! I am going to William Sonoma this weekend to pick some up-What a flavor booster!!! I LOVED the paired Chardonnay (that’s on my list, too). The barramundi was cooked to perfection with the heavenly lemon& paprika vinaigrette. Being chocoholics we were VERY happy with the bittersweet chocolate terrine!!! What a yummy menu! Chef Paul Niles from Thee Bungalow was great! He is obviously very passionate about what he does. And, again, I love the fact that he is a great chef without “attitude.”
Susan McCabe was awesome; she is so nice to explain everything-she even gives us tips on where to purchase items! Her Steakhouse Cuisine class was perfect for the meat and potato lover her recipes are detailed and very easy to understand, and the red wine that was paired with the menu was perfect-we will be back!
Our wine instructor, Keri Busino was bubbly and energetic. She has a passion for wine and you can tell by the way she teaches, her handouts were full of great information and the wine that she brought to taste was readily available and she told us where to purchase it at. Great wine classes for the novice to the professional, not stuffy or pretentious! The classes are fun and a great way to have a girls night out! Very entertaining and educational.
